Meg Wolitzer Talks About Writing
“Writing is the only time I’m free of anxiety even when it’s difficult,” Meg Wolitzer confessed to Portland fans who came to hear her read from “The Uncoupling” on Sunday at Powell’s Bookstore. On the process of writing she said, “I’m very productive but it’s erratic. While I walk the dog I start thinking. When you’re a writer, you’re always marinating and then you’re finally tenderized. I work early in the morning and have diminishing returns as the day goes on.” Her advice to fledgling writers: “put in the time.”
Wolitzer’s new book may or may not look at “what happens to talent over time and talent envy.” We can’t wait Meg!
